John (1832-1910) was the son of Kenneth Maciver and Ann Maciver of 1 Old Coll. In 1851 the family obtained 33 Coll and in due course this passed to John.
He married Catherine Macrae, 10 Vatisker. John and Catherine lived at 33 Coll and they had eight children. In due course 33 Coll passed to their youngest son, Kenneth.
John was widowed in 1897.
