Alasdair Chaluim Alasdair

Alexander (1829-1902) was the son of Malcolm Maciver and Isabella Macleod of 18 Old Coll.

Alexander married Jane Maciver of 33 Coll. Alexander and Jane lived at 18 Old Coll where they had the first of their seven children.

In 1851, during the croft re-lotting, his parents obtained 23 Coll. The couple settled at 23 Coll

In 1893-4 the family suffered many bereavements. Their cottar daughter and her entire family, except for her son Donald, died of tuberculosis. It seems likely that Donald was taken in by his grandparents at this point. Alexander was widowed in 1894.

In due course 23 Coll passed to his daughter, Ann.
