117431: Gilbride Morrison

Gilbride was the son of Finlay Morrison. Gilbride, a blacksmith, was grieve to (Sir) Norman MacLeod in the years before the latter’s marriage in 1651. During that time Gilbride grazed his lambs on the island of Grianam and cut his peats on Torogay. Until the great sandstorm of 1697, Gilbride tenanted a 1/2d plot of land at Sheabie. Following the storm, sand covered the area and Gilbride’s family was moved instead to a plot in Ardmaree.
