Donald (born 1843) was the son of John Macdonald and Hannah Maciver of 27 Coll.
In Lochs, in 1870, he married Christina Matheson, of 5 Gravir, and the couple settled at 27 Coll and had six children.
In due course 27 Coll passed to their grandson.
