Roderick (born 1889) was the son of Murdo Macdonald and Catherine Mackenzie of 11 Back. He obtained 39 Gress, as a newly lotted croft, in 1922.
He married Marion Graham of 44 Gress. The couple settled at 39 Gress and they had at least one child, Cathie.
