Murdo (born 1831) was the son of Donald Macleod and Evanderina Macrae. In 1835 the family obtained 37 Old Back and in 1858 they obtained 37 Back.
He married Marion Brown of Greenock. Murdo and Marion were cottars on 37 Back and they had two children.
