118168: Catherine MacDonald

Catherine, born 1855, was the daughter of Neil MacDonald and Christina MacLean of Griminish. During the 1850s the family moved to Borve, where Neil worked as grieve on the new farm. The site of their home was later known as Tobhta Nèill ‘ic Lachlainn. In 1878 Catherine married schoolteacher Donald Johnson at Portree. Together they were to have seven children. They lived at Paible before moving to Berneray in 1890, then to Dunskellar in 1903.
