John (born 1889) was the son of George Macdonald and Jane Maciver of 4 Coll. The family later moved to 29 Coll.
He married Margaret Kinnear of Kincardine. John and Margaret settled in Peterhead and they had two children.
John inherited 29 Coll but passed it to his sister, Catherine Bell.
