118619: Catherine Macritchie

Caitriona Thormoid

Catherine (1791-1874) was the daughter of Norman Macritchie of Stornoway.

She married Alexander Macdonald of 14 Old Coll. The couple settled at 14 Old Coll and they had seven children. 

Catherine was widowed c1845 and she split the croft and retained the part known as 14a Old Coll. 14b Old Coll went to her son, Angus.

In 1851, during the croft re-lotting, the family obtained 44/45 Coll. In the later 1850s part of the croft was taken for Donald Graham. Catherine retained 44 Coll and Donald lived at 45 Coll.
