Uileam Eachainn Uilleam
William (1890-1918) was a son of Hector Bruce and Margaret Anderson. His father was a teacher and the family lived in Orkney, Skye, Cromore Schoolhouse and 31 Bridge Street, Inverness.
William emigrated to Canada and served as a Lieutenant in the Canadian Expeditionary Force in the First World War and was transferred to the 104th Squadron of the Royal Air Force in 1917. His plane went missing on a flight from England to France and came down in Northern France. He is buried at Commercy French National Cemetery and his name is commemorated in Loyal Lewis: Roll of Honour 1914-1918, Pairc War Memorial and Stornoway War Memorial.
