Margaret (1859-1902) was a daughter of Donald Macarthur and Mary Macleod, 13 Cromore. She had a twin sister who died aged three weeks.

In the late 1860s the family moved to 48 Lewis Street, Stornoway.

She married Alexander John Kerr, 28 Bayhead in Stornoway, in 1883 and they had a family.
