Kenneth Macaskill (1819-1898) was born in Eilean Anabaich, North Harris.
In 1850, in Harris, he married Margaret Munro, Eilean Anabaich. Kenneth and Margaret settled at Eilean Anabaich and they had six children.
In 1851 his sister-in-law, Marion is living with the family and in 1861 his father-in-law, Donald and sister-in-law, Marion are living with the family.
Margaret died at Molinginish in 1868 four months after the birth of Anne. The family moved to New Street, Stornoway and in 1871 his sister-in-law Marion is living with the family. By 1881 Marion and the family have moved to Keith Street and 1891 to Point Street.
