Donald (1875-1915) was the son Donald Smith and Ann Smith from 12 North Bragar. 

He married Marion Campbell, 43 North Bragar, in Shawbost, in 1904. They lived at 44 North Bragar and they had five children.

Donald enrolled in Royal Naval Reserve Service Number 2350D and served in the Royal Navy in the First World War. He served on HMS Goliath and on 13 May 1915 the ship was sunk in Morto Bay off Cape Helles by three torpedoes from an enemy ship.

Donald is commemorated on the  Village memorial: West Side, Bragar and Lewis War Memorial: Parish of Barvas, South Division, panel 4
