Allan (1825-1912) was the son of Duncan Macaskill and Christina Morrison, Isle of Taransay, Harris.
The family moved to Lewis in 1851. Allan was living with his parents at 7 Habost.
In Harris, in 1854, he married Mary Macleod, Ardhasaig, Harris. Allan and Mary settled at 7 Habost and they had four children.
His father died in 1870 and the family moved to Ardhasaig.
