Murdo (1860-1934) was a son of Malcolm Mackay and Christina Macleod, 4 Crulivig. He married Janet Macdonald from 5 Crulivig and lived there until he bought the croft 2 Earshader from Murdo John Smith. They had ten children and only six survived.
