Alexander Macleod (born 1862) was a son of Mary McDermid, a Cottar at Mol a’ Chaolais, Kyles Scalpay.
At Peterhead, in 1894, he married Mary Macritchie, 9 Gravir. Alexander and Mary were cottars at Mol a’ Chaolais and they had six children.
The family moved to Portnalong, Isle of Skye.
