38620: Unknown Robertson

Captain Robertson was one of the first agents who came to Bernera for the lobster fishing. He lived there during the late 1820s and early 1830s and he had an agreement with the local men which ran for seven years – he bought their catch for 2.5 pence each and provided boats which had to be paid off out of the men's earnings.

He built Kyles House on what is today 1 Croir.
