John (1882-1962) was a son of John Martin and Johanna Mackenzie, 5 Arivruach. John worked as a postman in Harris for many years.
In 1906 at Balallan he married Catherine Morrison of 4 Arivruach. The couple lived in Leacklee for many years prior to moving to Stornoway where they resided for 20 years. They did not have any children. John and Catherine retired to 20 Arivruach.
