Peter (1866-1951) was a son of John Gillies and Ann Macaulay, Bosta. The family moved to 6 Kirkibost when the village was re-settled in 1878. Peter was a fisherman on the Sea Mermaid SY1163.
In 1906 he married Dolina Smith, 2 Earshader. The couple lived at 6 Kirkibost and they had no children.
Peter and his wife Dolina died within an hour of each other.
The Gillies family used the sheiling known as Airigh Padruig Iain Ghiollais.
