Alexander (1826-1910) was a son of Norman Macfarlane and Margaret Wylie, 1 Marvig.
At Wick, in 1852, he married Betsy Macdonald from Sutherland. Alexander and Betsy settled at 10 Marvig and they had six children.
Alexander was widowed in 1905.
