Malcolm Macrae (1913-1963) was a son of John Macrae and Margaret Macmillan from the Isle of Lewis. He was born in Glasgow and his father was a lay preacher in Leverburgh. When Malcolm was a student in the late 1930s he met his future wife who was the District Nurse in Leverburgh
In Uig, in 1941, he married Margaret Macdonald from 7 Kirkibost, Great Bernera. Malcolm and Margaret lived at Strathmartine and they had one son.
Malcolm was a Psychiatrist and at the time of his death he was Medical Director of Strathmartine Hospital, Dundee.
