67809: John MacLeod

John MacLeod was born in 1893, the son of Malcolm MacLeod and Janet MacKay, and brought up at 1/2 Ruisgarry (Sandhill). He attended Berneray School between 1898 and 1907.

John emigrated to Los Angeles where he set up a firm of accountants with two of his younger brothers, Duncan and Malcolm. He was well-respected, becoming president of the Clan MacLeod Society in America. He was a good friend of Dame Flora MacLeod, and was a benefactor of Dunvegan Castle.

He was married with children.
