Donald (1794-1873) was the son of Malcolm Mackenzie and Christina Mackay from Croir, Bernera. He was the first tenant of 2 Doune Carloway.
Donald married Catherine Macaulay from Bosta. Donald and Catherine lived at 2 Doune Carloway and they had seven children. In the 1840s the family moved to Gearraidh Scoir at Laxdale and later to 37 Newmarket.
