21661: Shepherd’s House, Eishken

The first Shepherd of Eishken was Walter Beattie (1814) son of Charles from Langholm. He moved to Timsgarry in 1857.

Murdo Campbell (1818) from Dornoch was the Shepherd until 1864.

The next Sheep Farm Manager was John Hymers from Farr, Sutherland and he worked until the 1870s. Shepherd’s House was named Eishken Lodge in the 1871 Census and may be a different building.
