"Domhnuill Ban" Donald Macleod was in Kershader at the time of the 1861 census report, and as far as can be ascertained, it is felt that he resided at or near croft no 7 Kershader before the family emigrated to America, probably in the 1860's.

The next tenant was Murdo Macdonald, 4 Habost, followed by his daughter Annabella until they moved to Stornoway and the croft went over to Murchadh Ban's (1836) nephew at 4 Habost - Donald Macdonald, "Domhnuill Iain Ruaidh"
