Mary, born 1827, was the daughter of Peter MacCusbic and Effie MacLean of Borve and later Ruisgarry. In 1845, when Ruisgarry’s many small crofts were re-organised into larger plots, the family was moved to 1b Urgha.  

On 15th August 1855 Mary emigrated to Australia on the Royal Albert, arriving at Port Adelaide on 1st December. Her occupation was given as servant.
