John was born in Stornoway on 18.01.1951 to Norman Macdonald of 23 Borve and Catherine Mackenzie of Stornoway. John was raised at 73 Plasterfield. On leaving home he went to Glasgow where he worked as a slater and where he was living when he married on 29.06.1972. The young couple returned to Lewis initially to Leurbost and then to 10 Tomair Balallan where they spent most of their married lives and raised a family of 3 and where they were still living when John died on 5.02.2019.
