Roderick Macleod Mackenzie (1933 -2014) was the son of Murdo Angus Mackenzie and Ann Macleod, The Old Teacher's Cottage, Gravir.
In Lochs, in 1963, he married Christina Matheson, 4 Glenside, Gravir. Roderick and Christina had two sons and after some time on the mainland, they came back to Lewis and settled at The Old Teacher's Cottage, Gravir which was renamed The Cottage.
The croft at 42 Gravir was passed to Roderick.
Roderick was widowed in 1980 and at Inverness in 1985 he married widow, Joan Mackinnon, nee Nicolson, 11 Habost.
