45625: David Smith

David, son of John Smith and Catherine Mackay, 16 Balallan served as a Sergeant in the RAF during the Second World War. He was captured by the Japanese and was held Prisoner of War in Malaya from 1942 to 1945. He remained in the RAF after the War and was stationed in Palestine, Egypt, Malta, Aden, Germany and England until he left the force in 1968. David lived and worked in Norwich and retired in 1982.
