5223: Alexander Macaulay

Alexander (1806-1887) was a son of Murdo Macaulay and Ann Macdonald, 13 Old Gravir.
In Lochs, in 1840, he married Isabella Mackenzie, 14 Marvig. Alexander and Isabella were cottars at 13 Old Gravir and they had no children. Alexander obtained 23 Gravir in the 1852 lotting.
Alexander was widowed in 1862 and married Christina Macritchie, 38 Gravir in 1863. It is believed that Alexander adopted Christina's daughter, Agnes.
