Iain Alasdair Iain

John (born 1920) was a son of Alexander Macdonald and Mary Ann Macleod, 6 Garyvard. The family moved to Park House, Garyvard and in 1936 moved to 10 Keose Glebe.

John served as a Lance Corporal in the Army in the United Kingdom and the far east in the Second World War.

He married Jean Margaret Riley from Bradford and set up home at 21 North Allerton Road, Bradford, John was a Clerical Officer with the Hydro Board in England.

On VE day John was in Burma, flying over Pegu, dropping supplies to the South Staffordshire Regiment and thinking what a waste of life.
