66058: Murdo Matheson

Murdo, who is assumed to be the son of John and Janet Morrison, was living in Valtos in 1766 but is on record in Crowlista in 1780 and 1787. Murdo possibly moved in 1773 when there was sweeping re-allocation of tenancies. Murdo had children including: 

• John ‘Iain Ban’ – recorded in Valtos in 1766 as John bain McCourchie and later in Erista as John Maccorrachie Brepiter. He moved to Tom-an-Fhuadain in Gravir (again possibly in 1773 when many Uig tenants relocated to Lochs)
• Malcolm – Calum Ban or Calum Breabadair; Valtos to Crowlista
• Donald – Domhnall Ban b c1760; settled at Gravir
