69945: Donald MacKillop
Donald MacKillop was born in about 1839, the son of Donald MacKillop and Marion MacLeod. Born in old Ruisgarry, his father obtained 5 Ruisgarry (Beasdaire) in 1850. He married Mary MacLeod from Kyles Scalpay, briefly becoming a cottar on his father’s croft before emigrating to the Framboise area of Cape Breton. Their nine children were presumably born in Cape Breton – Angus (1870), Marion (1872), Donald (1874), Murdo (1876), Sarah Kate (1880), Kirsty (1883), Effie (1885), Angus (1888) and Kate A (1890).
