Mary Morrison

Mary Morrison, born 1800, was the daughter of blacksmith Angus Morrison and Catherine MacLeod of Rodel, living for a time in old Ruisgarry. 

Coming from a line of bards, Mary too was renowned as a bardess. She married ground officer John MacAskill of Lag a’ Chealla and they had nine children together. The youngest, named Mary, was born in 1836, the year of Mary's death.
