Duncan MacLeod

Duncan, born in 1885, was the son of Donald MacLeod and Christina MacCusbic of Quay. By 1901 he was working as a farm labourer, and was registered with the household of his aunt Catherine, who lived nearby. In Glasgow in 1925, Duncan married Bella Martin of 2 Bayhead, Lickisto. Together they were to have five children.

A yachtsman during the mid 1930s, he crewed on the Vita and also served with the Royal Naval Reserves. The family lived for several years at Pier House, Backhill. Later they moved to either Bayhead or Glasgow.
