Donald Macleod

Donald Macleod

Donald (1867-1933) was the son of Angus Macleod and Mary Mackenzie of 20 North Tolsta.

He spent his early years in Canada.

Donald married Isabella Graham, of 39 North Tolsta in 1893, and the couple settled at Old Shop, School Road, North Tolsta, but had no children. Donald was widowed in 1901.

Donald married again, this time to Annie Maciver of 30 North Tolsta in 1902. The couple had no children, but shared their home with Ann's sister Jessie.

Donald ran a shop. He was said to be a genuine philanthropist and was widely known and highly respected. Annie in her kindly humorous way was a true helpmate to him. His home was also a ceilidh house.
