Angus (born 1831) was the son of John Smith and Catherine Macdonald, of 4 Old North Tolsta.

In 1853 the family obtained 24 North Tolsta; it is not known if Angus was still living in the parental home at this time.

Angus emigrated to Canada and married Mary Inkster, of Canada. He worked for the Hudson's Bay Company.
