93213: Christina Maclennan

Christina (1837-1917) was the daughter of John Maclennan and Jane Morrison of 9a Old Lemreway.

In 1843, after Lemreway was cleared, the family obtained 4 Glen Tolsta.

Around 1848 Christina’s father died.

In 1856 Christina’s mother obtained 49 North Tolsta and the family settled there.

Christina married Malcolm Macdonald, of 5 Skigersta, and the couple settled, as cottars, at 49 North Tolsta. They had, at least, their first two children at this address.

Their third child was born, in 1863, the year they moved to 5 Skigersta. Once settled at 5 Skigersta the couple had a further nine children. In total they had 12 children: six boys and six girls.

Christina was widowed in 1911.
