93434: Catherine Macinnes

Catherine (1844-1925) was the daughter of Norman Macinnes and Catherine Morrison of 5 Glen Tolsta. The family had been evicted from Lemreway the year prior to her birth.

In 1853 the family lost their croft, but remained in Glen Tolsta as cottars.

In 1858 they obtained 5a Glen Tolsta, but lost this in 1869; they became cottars in Tolsta.

In 1874 her parents obtained 76 North Tolsta, but it is not clear if Catherine was still living in the parental home at that time. She married Donald Smith, of 55 North Tolsta, and they settled at 55 North Tolsta. They had seven children: four girls and three boys.

In due course 55 North Tolsta passed to their youngest son: Norman.
