44 Col

44 Coll was a newly split croft in the late 1850's; the first occupant was, widow, Catherine Macritchie and her eldest son, Murdo, who was a cottar on the croft.

On Catherine Macritchie's death, in 1874, 44 Coll passed to her family. It is not entirely clear who lived there however. By 1886 her granddaughter, Ann Macdonald settled there.

Ann Macdonald married widower, John Mackenzie, and the couple had four children.In due course 44 Coll passed to their son, Alexander.  

Alexander Mackenzie never married and 44 Coll passed to his brother Kenneth.

Kenneth Mackenzie married Ann Maciver, of 42 Back, and the couple had five children. In due course 44 Coll passed to their youngest son: Malcolm.

Malcolm Mackenzie never married and in due course passed 44 Coll to his niece.
