Murdo Macinnes and Margaret Maclean were the first occupants of 2 Hill Street, North Tolsta. They had nine children and the house passed to their son, John Macinnes.

John Macinnes and his wife Lily Mackay had at least four of their children at 2 Hill Street. In 1922 they obtained 4 Gress as a newly lotted croft. Their fifth child was born that same year and their sixth a few years later. 2 Hill Street passed to Donald Murray.

Donald Murray had three children with Mary Murray and the house passed to their eldest son.
