105919: 2 Old South Tolsta

2 Old South Tolsta was a newly lotted croft in 1830 and the first occupants were Donald Mackay, Christina Macleod and their son, Norman. The couple had an older child Murdo, but it is not certain he was alive at the time of the move.

Donald was originally from Galson and Christina was from Upper Barvas. He was not on the sub-tenants list of Old South Tolsta Tack in 1820, but this may have been prior to the couple's marriage as their first son was born in 1821. The couple had a further four children: Margaret, Murdo, Donald and Mary.

Around 1845 Donald died. In the 1851 croft re-lotting the family obtained 42 North Tolsta.
