105938: 19 Old South Tolsta

19 Old South Tolsta was a new croft in 1830. The first occupants were Hector Maciver, Effie and their children: Angus, Betsy and Donald. The family had previously been living in Old South Tolsta Tack and it is not clear if the couple's youngest daughter, Mary was still alive by the time of the move. In due course 19 Old South Tolsta passed to their son, Donald.

Donald Maciver married Ann Macdonald of 2 Garrabost and they had two children: Mary and Hector. Upon Donald's death, around 1847, the croft passed to his brother, Angus. Donald's widow returned to 2 Garrabost with her young children.

Angus married Mary Macdonald and by the time they obtained the croft they already had four children: Margaret, Mary, Mary and Hector. Their fifth child,  Effie, was born at 19 Old South Tolsta.

In the 1851 croft re-lotting the family obtained 28 North Tolsta.
