45 North Tolsta was a newly lotted croft in 1854. The first tenant was George Murray, 25 Old North Tolsta and he passed the croft to his eldest son, John.

John passed 45 North Tolsta to his son, George and he passed the croft to his daughter, Katie Ann.

Katie Ann passed 45 North Tolsta passed to her son. 

At some point the croft house was feued off from the croft and sold; After this point it was known as 45b North Tolsta.
