70286: 7/2 Ruisgarry (Lag a’ Chealla)

7/2 Ruisgarry was created by the division of 7 Ruisgarry (Lag a’ Chealla) into thirds in 1887, following the death of John MacAskill’s widow Marion.

The name Lag a’ Chealla means ‘hollow of the church or cell’.

7/2 was passed to Duncan MacAskill, who was subsequently passed 7/3 from his sister. Therefore from that stage, the combined 7/2 and 7/3 are again referred to as 7 Ruisgarry.
