Roderick (born 1860) was a son of Norman Montgomery and Marion Macleod, 25 Ranish. Roderick married three times. His first wife was Catherine Macleod from 5 Ranish. The couple settled at 25 Ranish and had no family.

Roderick was widowed in 1889 and married Christine Mackenzie from 4 Crossbost. Roderick and Christina lived at 25 Ranish and they had one daughter.

Roderick was widowed again in 1897 and later married  Catherine Maclean from 44 Breasclete. The couple also lived at 25 Ranish and they had five children.
