John (1859-1919) was a son of Robert Mackenzie and Isabella Gillies from Criogarry. In the 1860s the family moved to 13 Grimshader.
He married Margaret Mackenzie from 27 Crossbost. The couple settled at 13 Grimshader and they had eight children.
