Murchadh Iain Ruairidh

Murdo (born 1834) was the son of John Mackenzie and Christina Macleod of 22 Old Back. His father died around 1845 and the family later became cottars at 1 Back.

He married Mary Mackenzie of Stornoway. Murdo and Mary emigrated to Canada and settled at Quebec. In 1863 his elder brother, Norman emigrated and 1864 his mother and younger siblings also emigrated to Canada.
