115277: Angus Murray

Angus may have been the son of Murdo Murray, of Aird.  If he was the family moved to Steinish and he would be the brother of Kenneth Murray, of 15 Aird Tong.

It is known he was living in Aird in 1809 when he married Ann Maclean of Gress Tack. The couple had their first child, Catherine, in Coll in 1810 and their second, Ann, in Dibadale in 1826. Their third child, Kenneth, was born in 1832.

In 1845 the family settled in Aird Tong but soon after obtained 12 Tong and settled there.

In 1850 Angus exchanged crofts with Donald Mackenzie of 13 Tong.

In 1858, sometime after his death, his widow split 13 Tong and retained a part she named 11 Tong and 13 Tong passed to widow Christina Macaulay. Eventually 11 Tong passed to their daughter-in-law: Ann Stewart.
