Donald (born 1812) was the son of Donald Macleod and Janet Macleod. In 1825 the family obtained 32 Old Back.
He married Effie Ferguson of 17 Old Back. The family obtained 14 Back and in 1855 they emigrated to Canada and settled in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. Donald and Effie had six children.
